(I do not own the right to this poem)

Marching Band Blues

I fear winter's here, ain't no time to cheer, This time of the year won't see me looking for reindeer. 18, it's my turn to show these fools how it's done, It's time to show my little brother why I'm the #1 son. Been marching all my life, about to leave it all behind, So this Christmas Day Parade is my final chance to shine. That's right, the marching band has zero time to shine. I'm the Senior Leader so you know I'm nice on the Sax. Rehearsing 24/7 ever since Thanksgiving. Nursing home near 7/11 sees me marching to "Living" "for the City" I know it's pretty odd and far from the norm, I thought of everything except to pick up my uniform. ...Intrigued to see more?
