Grandfather Poem at a Wedding: Part 1

I left work last September, I was driving home fast,
When my mom called to tell me my Grandfather had passed,
he was a real Man, the type we all thrive to be,
He put faith, morals, and love over any other luxury.

So I went home, empty house, and didn’t know what to do,
I walked a little, laughed a little, and thought a little bit too,
Just thinking about all the good times we had shared,
Then I called my family to share the pain they beared.

I talked to my Aunt, and I was composed at the start,
But little memories of him started poking at my heart,
And then she put my Grandmother on the phone,
and my tears, they started running like I had kinda turned a faucet on.
My Grandmother said, “Son you need to be strong,”
So I stopped, no more tears, but the pain carried on.

...Intrigued to see more?
